Meet your therapist
Ako Ngu, MSW, RCSW
Clinical Director & Registered Clinical Social Worker at Orchard Wellness. Therapy for preteens, youth, and adults across Ontario and Alberta, with in-person sessions in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

About Ako
Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the life you want to live? I provide compassionate, client-centred counselling for preteens, youth, and adults navigating trauma, addiction, stress, relationship challenges, identity and sexuality, emotional wounds, and life transitions.
My approach is grounded in therapeutic connection, trauma-informed care, self-determination, and respect for each person's emotional, relational, and spiritual journey. I believe healing happens when people feel safe, supported, and empowered to explore their experiences without judgment.
Together, we can build healthier coping strategies, strengthen relationships, process difficult experiences, and reconnect with your values, strengths, faith, spirituality, and sense of purpose. I strive to create a warm, respectful, and welcoming space where you can feel heard, unburden yourself, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.

How I work
Therapy with me is collaborative and paced by you. Here is what the journey usually looks like.
A free consultation
We start with a short, no-pressure conversation about what's going on and what you're hoping for. You decide whether it feels like a fit — there's no obligation to continue.
Understanding your story
In the first sessions we map what you're carrying, what's already working, and the goals that matter to you. Nothing is off-limits and nothing is forced.
Steady, practical work
Together we build coping strategies, process difficult experiences at a pace your nervous system can handle, and reconnect you with your values and strengths.

Growth happens in a safe, steady environment — just like an orchard.
